Director of the Office for Community Affairs participated in the debate The presence of domestic violence in the territory of Gracanica Municipality
An informal group of citizens, with the support of the National Democratic Institute (NDI) organized a debate in Gracanica The presence of domestic violence in the territory of Gracanica Municipality.
According to research conducted by Informal group of citizens in a sample of approx. 1000 respondents it was found 95 % of them considered that it is necessary to open a safe house for victims of domestic violence in any area of the territory of Gracanica Municipality. According to research, the most frequent cases of domestic violence in the territory of this municipality are caused by alcoholism.
Besides the representatives of the Informal group of citizens and the National Democratic institution, were also participated the Director of the Office for Community Affairs, Srđan Popović, Mayor of Gracanica, Bojan Stojanović, the Police Station Commander in Gracanica Bratislav Trajković, and Hana Sahatqija from Security and Defense Sector of women/ UNDP.
On this occasion, the Director of the Office for Community Affairs emphasized that the above mentioned topic is very essential therefore it should be paid more attention and commitment. Office for Community Affairs within the Office of Prime Minister supports this initiative of opening a safe house in Gracanica and will contribute to realization.
