Meeting of the task force for finding a lasting solution for forcefully displaced people in Kosovo and in neighboring states


The Ministry for Communities and Return, in cooperation with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), organized the fourth meeting of the Task Force on Durable Solutions for people forcefully displaced in Kosovo and its neighboring countries. The meeting was organized in Pristina on the 3rd of July, in Hotel Victory.

The Minister for Communities and Return, Dalibor Jevtić and the chief of the UNHCR Mission, Jo Hegenauer, chaired the task force. The task force consists of more than 40 members, who represent all UN agencies, governmental organizations, donors and municipal governments. A great number of international and local non-governmental organizations were also present at the meeting.

The main themes of the conference were the return and reintegration of refugees and displaced persons from Montenegro, and the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, a strategic, durable solution for refugees from Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Croats living in Kosovo.

The Center for the Monitoring of Internally Displaced People and the Kosovo Statistical Agency presented information regarding upcoming profiling displaced people in Kosovo. In addition, they gave recommendations on the continuation of further actions, defined the relevant stakeholders and a specified time frame.
