Slovenian Ambassador visited the Office of Community Affairs

On 13 May, the Slovenian Ambassador, Mr. Miljan Majhen, paid an official visit to the Office of Community Affairs/ Office of the Prime Minister (OCA/OPM), where he was hosted and briefed by the Director, Mr Srdjan Popovic on the mandate and activities of the Office, with a particular focus on a resolution to the current non-recognition of University in North Mitrovica diplomas.
The Office, as part of an on-going initiative to improve State employment opportunities for non-majority communities, is developing recommendations to overcome this critical problem, since the current situation precludes non-majority community graduates from this academic institution applying for any professional post within the government or in public institutions.
In his remarks, Director Popovic emphasised that " the Office, through its participation in various Committees, (Consultative Council for Communities, Language Policy Board, Steering Committee  for monitoring and coordinating the implementation of the Strategy for Integration of Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian etc), provides concrete support to the enhancement of daily life in all aspects to non-majority communities throughout Kosovo”.
