Celebration of Bosniak Day


On 29. September, Office for Community Affairs (OCA) organized round table during the celebration of Bosniak Community Day, where the guests were Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Local Governmet Administration Slobodan Petrovic, MPs Duda Balje and Emilia Redzepi, head of the Office of Community Azemina Culum, Deputy Minister of Education Usmen Baldzi, head of North Mitrovica administrative office Adriana Hodzic, delegate of North Mitrovica Nedzat Ugljanin, representative of Elementary School in Bosnian language „Bedri Djina“ Zuhru Kani, representative of American Embassy, representatives of EUSR, representatives of NGO sector and guests from Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Head of Office for Community Affaris Srdjan Popovic greeted present, wished them happy Bosniak Day and said:
„Different communities make a society authentic with their culture and tradition, and our duty is to cherish that authenticity and protect equaly, in accordance with constitution and legislations, rights of every community to preserve its culture, language, tradition and to exercise its rights on equal basis.

Representatives of Bosniak community expressed deep gratitude to OCA for organizing this round table for the first time, and they presented the problems that their community meets.
Dear representatives of Bosniak community, I want to thank you on successful cooperation that in different ways we made within the last few years and I believe the cooperation will continue in same spirit and that it will bring more successful results.I wish you a lot of success in your effort to contribute in best way possible to development, promotion and preservation of identity and culture of your community.’’added Popovic.
